Thinking About Visiting Volti Audio?

Over the past year, as the Volti Audio YouTube channel has grown, I’ve been hearing from more and more people who would like to stop by and visit.

The YouTube videos, the website, and the experiences shared by Volti owners are reaching more people than ever before, and I’m grateful for that. It’s exactly what I’ve been working toward.

As more people reach out, I thought it would be helpful to explain how I handle listening sessions and visits here at Volti Audio.

Volti Audio Isn’t a Typical HiFi Shop

If you’ve never been here before, it’s easy to assume that I have a commercial listening room where people can stop in, hear the speakers, and head on their way.

That’s not the case.

Volti Audio is a small company. We build about fifty pairs of speakers each year, not hundreds. I sell directly to my customers, and I have a hand in building every pair that leaves the shop.  I handle all sales and marketing myself, without a sales staff.

There is no dedicated demonstration room.  The Volti Audio shop and the Roberts’ residence are both part of the same property, and the listening room is also our living room.

When someone comes for a listening session, I’m inviting them into our home. Before we listen, I rearrange the room for the demonstration, and afterward everything goes back to being our living room again. I don’t mind doing that for someone who is seriously considering Volti speakers, but it does mean I need to be thoughtful about how I schedule visits.

Before You Get Here

For most people, a listening session isn’t the beginning of their journey with Volti.

It’s one of the last steps.

By the time someone comes here, they’ve usually watched quite a few YouTube videos, spent time on the website, read reviews, talked with owners, and have a pretty good idea that Volti might be the right speaker for them.

The listening session is simply the opportunity to find out if the speakers are everything they hoped they would be.

Most Visitor Inquiries Fall Into Three Categories

1.  Making a Special Trip

Some people drive for hours or fly here specifically to hear the speakers.

They’re making the trip because they want to answer one question:

Are these the speakers I want to own?

They’ve usually spent a good deal of time learning about Volti before making the trip and are genuinely interested in finding out whether these are the right speakers for them.

That’s exactly what listening sessions are for.

2.  Shopping for New Speakers

Others are actively shopping for speakers or planning an upgrade soon, and have Volti on their short list.

They may not have made up their minds yet, but they’re genuinely trying to determine if a pair of Volti Audio speakers are the right fit for their home and listening preferences.

Again, that’s exactly what listening sessions are for.

3.  Just Passing Through

I receive a lot of inquiries from people who happen to be traveling to Nashville or driving close by on their way somewhere else.

I truly appreciate the interest.

The reality is that I simply can’t accommodate everyone who would like to visit. Between designing, building speakers, and running Volti Audio, my time is limited. Since listening sessions also take place in our living room rather than a commercial listening room, I generally reserve them for people who are considering Volti as a future speaker purchase and want to learn whether they’re the right fit.

Some Inquiries Need a Little More Conversation

Not all inquiries—especially those that come by email—give me enough information to know which of those three categories they fit into.

In those cases, I’ll usually reply with a few questions so I can better understand what you’re hoping to accomplish. Once I understand that, it’s usually pretty easy for both of us to decide whether a listening session makes sense.

If You’re Thinking About Volti…

If you’re interested in Volti speakers, I’d love to hear from you.

Tell me about your current system, your listening room, your musical tastes, and what sparked your interest in Volti. The more I understand what you’re hoping to accomplish, the better I can help you decide whether a visit makes sense.

If you’ve read this far and you’re wondering where your situation fits, don’t worry about it.

Just send me an email.

We’ll figure it out together.
