Well-preserved 981S models with the six-speed manual transmission are increasingly difficult to find, particularly with such low mileage, pristine condition, and a completely up-to-date maintenance history.

This 2013 Porsche Boxster S is finished in Platinum Silver Metallic over Carrera Red Natural Leather and is powered by a 3.4-liter naturally aspirated flat-six producing 315 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

The car has just 10,755 miles and has had three owners from new, with approximately 2,100 miles added during my ownership of just under one year.

During that time, every age- and mileage-related maintenance item I could identify has been addressed, bringing the car completely up to date mechanically.

I’m privy to the complete history of this car from new.

The car has no accident history, passed a Porsche pre-purchase inspection in October 2025, is mechanically perfect, and is exceptionally clean cosmetically, with only a few microscopic imperfections here and there and a couple of tiny scratches on the passenger-side mirror that occurred back in 2013.

The car is accompanied by its original Porsche window sticker showing an MSRP of $70,630, two keys, all original manuals and paperwork, a current August 2026 Carfax report, the October 2025 PPI, complete maintenance records, and a car cover.

I have a clear Tennessee title in my name.

The car is equipped with bi-xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a speed-activated rear spoiler, side air intakes, dual center exhaust outlets, auto-dimming mirrors, and a power-operated black convertible top.

The 20-inch Carrera Classic wheels were professionally cleaned and ceramic coated and are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S XL tires in 245/35 front and 275/35 rear sizes, installed in November 2025 along with new TPMS sensors and valve stems.

The wheels were road-force balanced and are fitted with hub-centric 8mm front and 15mm rear spacers.

The four-wheel cross-drilled and ventilated disc brakes are equipped with red-painted Porsche-branded calipers. The brakes received fresh brake fluid in January 2026, which was flushed again in April when the clutch hydraulic system was also bled.

A specialty street-performance alignment was performed in April 2026.

The car operates flawlessly and on the curvy backroads that I’m privileged to drive here in TN, it is precise, controlled, and fast.

Everything works on this car as it should.

The interior is finished in Carrera Red Natural Leather, including Porsche’s $3,895 Leather Interior Package, one of the car’s most expensive factory options. This is substantially more than simply having leather seats: the leather extends across the dashboard, door panels, center console, steering wheel, and other interior surfaces. After more than 13 years, the leather remains exceptionally well preserved—soft, supple, and in pristine condition. It has been carefully cleaned and conditioned during my ownership.  Of particular note, the typical door card warping issue that the 981 is known for is a non-issue with this car, perhaps owing to the quality level of the leather provided by Porsche when the full leather option is chosen.

Additional interior equipment includes Sports Seats Plus, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, Porsche CDR-31 audio, Porsche-script floor mats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The instrument cluster features a central white-faced tachometer with a 7,600-rpm redline, a 190-mph speedometer, and a digital display.

One useful point of comparison is another 2013 Boxster S with a six-speed manual transmission that sold on Bring a Trailer in July 2026 for $66,000 plus the buyer’s fee.

I think my car compares favorably to the one that sold on BaT. There are different options on each car and the mileage is quite different — the car that sold on BaT had more than three times the mileage as mine.

Given the options available to me, I believe listing this car on BaT would probably bring the highest selling price. BaT is very good at getting buyers to compete for a car and, ultimately, getting the highest price.

But I’ve decided I’d rather handle the sale myself. I find the auction sites somewhat heavy-handed in how they manage the selling process, and I’d rather have a straightforward conversation directly with the person who ultimately buys the car.

I’m willing to give up some potential upside in exchange for that, and I think a direct sale can be a better experience for both of us.
